OUR STORY

Our love story began on a 'Thirsty Thursday" in Charleston, SC, back in 2013. 

Not very uncommon, Han had lost track of his friends that night and found himself smoking a cigarette by himself outside the bar when he started talking to an american student. It turned out, this student was out with his international friends and in true spirit of southern-hospitality, he brought Han back inside to meet them.  

Not very uncommon, in the middle of the dance floor, dancing in her own little bubble was Sara. They were introduced to each other, shook hands, and leaned in a bit closer to be able to hear each others' names through the loud music - is Han really a name? 

The evening went on and Sara and her friends were about to leave the bar...

He stopped her, not really knowing why but he just felt that he couldn't let her walk out that door without knowing if he would ever see her again. 

She was happy he did. She listened to him talking, already being able to read his face - she new what he wanted. She listened, charmed by his confidence and flattered by his shyness. 

He talked, and talked, and talked - like he always does

She took matters into her own hands - like she always does 

She asked for his phone and entered her number. As she walked out the door, she smiled and yelled back at him to call. He called her the next day. 

... 7 years worth of memories later and we've backpacked through South-East Asia, moved in and out of 4 places in the Netherlands, spent a year in New Zealand, gotten our first pets (4 fishes), lived in and managed a boutique hotel in Utrecht, and bought our first home in Culemborg. On the 1st of August 2019, Han went down on one knee and asked the big question, and of course Sara said yes. 

We can't wait to celebrate this with all the special people we've met through out our journey. Let's continue this story and make this a day to remember!
